Rain water recovery

A rainwater harvesting system is installed at Cobalt Business Park, which provides stored filtered rainwater to flush the WCs and also feeds several external taps located around the building for gardening and cleaning duties. The system is fed from a 45,000 litre underground tank, which is protected via an inline leaf filter.

The water is pumped to the roof via a sump pump internal to the underground tank. A 1000 litre tank is fed from the underground tank, which is located on the roof area. The water is then gravity fed to the WCs. The rainwater is then distributed via a pipework system and is fitted with all associated valves. In the event of a time of little rain fall, mains cold water top up has been provided via float switches and solenoid valves.
